This is a stunning pair of original antique (late Victorian) hanging earrings. Crafted from 9ct gold, and finished with a 15ct gold gilt, they feature hand engraved oak leaves on their stems (oak leaves were used in jewellery to signify strength, loyalty and widsom) and are beautifully decorated with ornate engraving, the likes of which is no longer seen today. In fact, the magnificent chasing all the way over the face of these earrings gives them really fabulous texture and the pink and green toumalines are such a good match for each other. 

A really wonderful pair of antique earrings; totally unique and unlike any others i've ever seen. They are not hallmarked, but have been tested for 9ct Gold, with a gilt layer of 15ct Gold on top. Based on their design and the intracate detailing, I would date them to the late Victorian or very early Edwardian era.

The earrings hang well from the ears and measure 1.7cm wide by 4.5cm long. The hang from the top is an extra 1cm. They weigh a healthy 10.30g collectively.
